1) The Genealogy of Jesus Christ - Matthew 1:1-17 - (Ruth 4:18-22; 1 Chronicles 2:1-5; Luke 3:23-38) - To Index ^
a) Matthew 1:1-17 - 41 Generations Counted - According to Matthew 1:17 there are suppose to be a total of 42 generations, but I counted them
many times over, and I counted a total of 41 generations. There is supposed to be 3 sets of 14 generations. So from the exile of Babylon to Jesus Christ there are 13 generations that I have counted. From what I understand is that Jesus genealogy doesn't stop at Jesus, his genealogy continues on with us, we Born Again Christians, are the 42nd generation, we are his children, his heirs with him, his sons and daughters if you will..
b) Summary of The Genealogy of Jesus Christ - Matthew 1:1-17 - 1) Jesus Genealogy didn't stop with Jesus Christ, because we are the 42nd
generation, heirs with him, his sons and daughters if you will. (See The Genealogy List of Jesus Christ)
2) Christ Born of Mary - Matthew 1:18-25 - (Luke 2:1-7) - To Index ^
a) Matthew 1:18 - Joseph and Mary's Engagement - After Mary and Joseph became engaged (Betrothed) it was discovered that she was pregnant,
the infant
being Jesus. And Joseph &
Mary had not yet, become
intimate with each other at
that time. It was the Holy
Spirit that made Mary
pregnant, but Joseph did not
yet know that part of it.
(Definition
of Betroth) - (Easton's
Bible Dictionary) - to
promise "by one's truth."
Men and women were
betrothed when they
were engaged to be married.
This usually took place a
year or more before
marriage. From the time of
betrothal the woman
was regarded as the lawful
wife of the man to whom she
was
betrothed (Deuteronomy
28:30; Judges 14:2,8;
Matthew 1:18-21). The
term is figuratively
employed of the spiritual
connection between God and
his people (Hosea
2:19,20).
b)
Matthew 1:19-20 -
Joseph Wanted to Divorce
Mary - Now Joseph
being a righteous man, not
acting out of revenge, or
cold hearted ways,
somehow
wanted to secretly divorce
Mary because in his thinking
he thought that Mary had
slept with another man in
order to get pregnant
because at that time Mary
and Joseph has not yet
became intimate with one
another. Joseph didn't
understand just yet that it
was the Holy Spirit that
somehow made Mary pregnant.
But while Joseph was
sleeping a angle of the Lord
cam to him in a dream
telling him to not fear to
take Mary as his wife,
because he was the Holy
Spirit that got Mary
pregnant somehow.
c)
Matthew 1:21 -
Jesus Save People From their
Sins - Our Lord
Jesus Christ came to save
his people from their sins,
his people being that of
those who
repent, deny their selves,
pick up their crosses and
follow him, that is Born
Again Christians, Jew &
Gentile, the Spiritually
circumcised.
d)
Matthew 1:22-23 -
Old Testament Prophecy
Fulfilled - In this
Mary being a virgin, being
pregnant with our Lord Jesus
Christ inside of her,
fulfills one
of the many prophecies
concerning our Lord Jesus
Christ,
Isaiah
7:14; Therefore the
Lord Himself will give you a
sign;
Behold the virgin shall
conceive and bear a son, and
shall call his name
Immanuel, to
which
Immanuel is
translated
"God
with us"
that meaning is Jesus Christ
to which is equal to God,
came to us in the flesh.
(Definition
of Immanuel) - (Easton's
Bible Dictionary) -
God with us. In the
Old Testament it occurs only
in
Isaiah 7:14 and
8:8.
Most Christian interpreters
have regarded these words as
directly and exclusively a
prophecy of our Savior, an
interpretation borne out by
the words of the evangelist
Matthew (1:23).
e)
Matthew 1:24-25 -
Joseph Obeyed the Angel
of the Lord - Joseph
obeyed the Angel and Married
Mary, but Joseph did not get
Intimate with
Mary until
after our Lord
Jesus
Christ was born,
their first born Son,
Jesus.
Note; that
Christ
is not
Jesus last name. See
definition of
Christ.
(Definition
of Jesus) - (Hitchcock's
Bible Names),
Savior, Deliverer - (Easton's
Bible Dictionary) - This
is the Greek form of the
Hebrew name
Joshua,
which was originally
Hoshea
(Numbers
13:8,16), but changed
by Moses into
Jehoshua (Numbers
13:16; 1 Chronicles 7:27),
or
Joshua. After the
Exile it assumed the form
Jeshua,
whence the Greek form
Jesus.
It was given to our Lord to
denote the object of his
mission, to save (Matthew
1:21).
(Definition
of Christ) - (Hitchcock's
Bible Names) -
Anointed -
(Easton's Bible Dictionary)
- anointed, the Greek
translation of the Hebrew
word rendered "Messiah"
(q.v.), the official title
of our Lord, occurring five
hundred and fourteen times
in the New Testament. It
denotes that he was
anointed or
consecrated to his great
redemptive work as Prophet,
Priest, and King of his
people. He is
Jesus
the
Christ
(Acts
17:3; 18:5; Matthew 22:42),
the
Anointed One. He is
thus spoken of by
Isaiah
(61:1), and by
Daniel
(9:24-26), who styles
him "Messiah
the Prince."

Wise
Men from
the East
-
Matthew
2:1-12
- To Index ^
a)
Matthew
2:1-2 - Where
is the King of the Jews?
- Even though Jesus was
born in Bethlehem, the
wise
men (scripture
doesn't say how many)
from the east
stopped in Jerusalem looking
for the King of the Jews by
asking people there,
where is Jesus the King of
the Jews. AFTER Jesus was
born, Now this shows us that
the
wise men DID NOT know
the exact location of our
Lord Jesus Christ because
they stopped in Jerusalem
looking for Jesus. They by
following the star had a
rough idea of where Jesus
might be. They asked the
people of Jerusalem where
Jesus was. So with
that the star DID NOT shine
a light beam to the exact
location of Jesus Christ. It
would be hard to determine
the exact area of Jesus
birth.
(Definition
of Wise Men, i.e. Magi)
- (See Adam Clarkes
Commentary) -
Matthew 2:1 - It is
worthy of remark, that the
Anglo-Saxon translates the
word
Magoi by a word which
signifies astrologers,
from a word which means "a
star or planet", and another
word which means "to
know or understand."
b)
Matthew 2:3-5 -
King Herod Searching For
Jesus - King Herod
when he heard about the King
of the Jews (Jesus) being
born, he considered
Jesus a major
threat to his own thrown in
the future when Jesus grew
up. King Herod totally
misunderstood about Jesus
being the King of the Jews.
The Chief Priest and the
scribes seemed to know the
prophecies concerning the
Messiah, that he would be
born in Bethlehem. That is
also how the wise men were
able to find out that Jesus
was born in Bethlehem not in
Jerusalem.
c)
Matthew 2:6 -
The Prophecy of the Messiah
- Prophecy states
that a ruler, out of
Bethlehem shall come a ruler
(King of Kings) shall
shepherd
(to guide and
teach) his (Jesus Christ)
people Israel (The Spiritual
Circumcised, Born Again
Christians).
d)
Matthew 2:7-8 -
King Herod Questions the
Wise Men - King

e)
Matthew 2:9-10 -
The Star Went Before Them
- As soon as the

them, and it stood above in
space where
Jesus Christ was at, and the
wise
men were so excited
with great Joy as if they
knew that Jesus Christ is
the son of God and the Lord
of Lords. It seems somehow
God gave them this knowledge
to know that Jesus Christ is
the King of Kings, the son
of God, even though
the
wise men are from the
Asian content.
f)
Matthew 2:11-12 -
Wise Men Meet Jesus
- It took the
wise
men
about 2 years to find
Jesus, due to the long
travel and that the star
didn't appear
to them until
after Jesus was born. And
when the
wise
men came to worship
Jesus, it was a HOUSE not a
manager that they came to.
Jesus at that time was a
toddler not a infant. We do
not know how much of each
gift that was given to Jesus
or what Jesus parents did
with the gifts, but we do
know that the
wise
men gave to Jesus 3
types of gifts,
1)
Gold,
Jesus is King

Frankincense, in
Ceremony and

- The Holy
Spirit led Jesus to the
Wilderness - It was
the Holy Spirit that led
Jesus into the wilderness to
be tempted by the devil
after Jesus has fasted for
40 days and 40 nights. I
believe another purpose that

submission, so that the weak
flesh would be in total
submission to him, rather
than he in submission to the
weak flesh.

Food - Now since
Jesus was very hungry after

Words of God once against to
fight against and resist the
evil of the devil.

Jesus Tempted to commit
Idolatry - In this
satan tempts our Lord Jesus

temptation, the evils of
satan.

flesh and mind was very weak
from hunger. But DON'T

was not in his flesh but in
the Spirit, that is the
power of God that was with
him AMEN!
