LET US PRAY; Dear
heavenly Father in the name of our Lord
Jesus Christ, we ask that you open up our
hearts, minds and souls to your holy words,
so we may hear, understand and see what
you want us to know, learn and apply to our
daily lives, so that we may Glorify you
among the believers and the non-believers in
the hope that believers will be encouraged
and strengthened in the FAITH and that
non-believers may come to your son Jesus
Christ in repentance, truth and obedience.
Amen
TRUE
BLESSINGS: You want true blessings from
God? Here Jesus teaches us the
true meanings of blessings from God
called "The Beatitudes." And if
we are the kind of people that the
beatitudes describes, then and only then
will we be truly happy, content and blessed by our
Father God! Happiness is not found in
the things of this world, it is only found
in the things of God! Happiness
is not worldly or carnal, it is spiritual!
We are not allowed to covet, we are to be
content with what we have.
What did Jesus mean when he
said Blessed......
at the start of each beatitude?
MSN Dictionary; (Bless):
wish somebody
or something well:
to declare approval
and support for somebody or something
The governor has blessed the
new plan.
So when Jesus says;
Blessed..... he
gives his approval and support for those
people who are as the beatitudes describes.
Many churches are in opposition to these
blessings with their false, health, wealth
and prosperity teachings. Those
churches are worldly & carnal & guilty
of self indulgences to which is a sin.
As it is written; Mt 6:4"Do
not lay up for yourselves
treasures
on earth,
where
moth
and
rust
destroy and where
thieves
break in and steal;
20but
lay up for yourselves
treasures
in
heaven,
where neither
moth
nor
rust
destroys and where
thieves
do not break in and steal.
21For
where your
treasure
is, there your
heart will
be also.
NKJV
3 "Blessed
are
the
poor
in
spirit,
For theirs is the
kingdom
of
heaven.
(LK
6:20)
-
POOR in SPIRIT; are
those who deprives them selves of
worldly wealth (MT
6:19-21) and worldly ways (MT
13:22). They are self
denying in the fact that they
lose their lives for Jesus Christ (MT
16:24-27). And the
"Poor in Spirit" are those who are
THANKFUL to God and content with
what they have (Col
3:15-17, LK 3:14, Heb 13:5).
This blessing is to encourage the poor and it is a model
that "ALL" true believers
should
practice in their daily lives.
It does NOT say bless the rich!
We MUST Deny Our Selves! As it
is written:
Matthew
16:24-27
Then Jesus
said to His disciples,
"If anyone desires to come after
Me, let him deny himself, and
take up his cross, and follow Me. 25
For whoever desires to save his life
will lose it, but whoever loses his
life for My sake will find it. 26
For what profit is it to a man if he
gains the whole world, and loses his
own soul? Or what will a man give in
exchange for his soul? 27 For the
Son of Man will come in the glory of
His Father with His angels, and then
He will reward each according to his
works. NKJV -
KINGDOM of HEAVEN; Our rewards are not of this world
nor are they given to us during our
time in this world. Our
rewards are given to us when we
enter heaven. (Reward in Heaven
LK 6:23, Crown of Life,
Rev 2:10).
Our Rewards are not in this world, or of
this world!
As it is written:
1Corinthians 9:25 And
everyone who competes
for the
prize
is
temperate in all things. Now they
do it
to
obtain
a
perishable
crown
, but we
for
an
imperishable
crown
.
Matt 5: 4 Blessed
are
those who
mourn,
For they shall be
comforted.
-
MOURN; First off, when we
realize that we are wretched and
pitiful people (Rom
7:24), we mourn over our
sins, and transgressions of the law.
We in no way deserve Gods grace,
Love, or salvation (Rom
3:9-18)!
As Born Again Christians we mourn
because we are not physically with
our Lord Jesus Christ, our God and
Our friend, Our Bridegroom (MT
9:15). We also mourn
over lost souls that refuses to
repent (2Co
12:21) and come into the
light of our Lord Jesus Christ (John
3:19). Because they
love darkness rather than the light.
We then, mourn over the evil
and wicked conditions of this world.
We mourn over mankind/womankind
destroying one
another, through crime, immorality,
easy divorces, religions, self help
theology, selfish desires,
personal opinions, corruption,
dishonest gain, and the
dysfunctional families. And
people are destroying societies,
with liberal, conservative, new age
and crazy religious ideas that are
very unbiblical. (2
Tim 3:1-5)
-
COMFORTED; While on this
earth we will be (Comforted
(KJV)
- Counseled (NKJV)
with the spirit of truth (John
14:16-17). But most of our
comfort, our complete peace will come
when we enter heaven, to where there
will be no more pain or sorrows.
Jesus said that in this world we
will have tribulation (John
16:33) and we will be hated
by all nations (MT
24:9).
Matt 5:5 Blessed
are
the meek, For they shall inherit the
earth.
-
MEEK; Now this word "meek" does
not mean weak as so many might think.
We are to be the people of peace (MK
9:50)
MSN Dictionary;
Meek:
mild: showing
mildness or quietness of nature.
It does does not mean,
that we are not to
speak boldly against sin. We are
to rebuke, instruct, and correct others
(LK 17:3, 1TI
5:20, 2TI 4:20, TIT 1:13, TIT 2:15) It does
mean that we are not stirred up like the
non-believers are, in the things and ways of
this world. We Born Again
Christians are to be given into the joys and
peacefulness of God in all of his
holiness and glory!
AMEN!
Matthew Henry Commentary Puts it even better;
III. The meek are happy (v. 5);
Blessed
are the meek.
The meek
are those who quietly submit themselves
to
God,
to his
word
and to his
rod,
who follow his
directions,
and comply with his
designs,
and are gentle towards all men (Titus
3:2);
who can
bear provocation
without
being inflamed
by
it; are either silent, or return
a
soft
answer;
and who can show their displeasure when
there is occasion for it, without being
transported into any indecencies; who
can be cool when others are hot; and in
their
patience
keep
possession of their own
souls,
when they can scarcely keep possession
of any thing else. They are the
meek, who are rarely and hardly
provoked, but quickly and easily
pacified; and who would rather forgive
twenty injuries than
revenge
one, having
the rule of their own
spirits.
-
INHERIT the EARTH; We shall
inherit the earth mainly because of our
meekness. Our lives shall be a whole lot
less stressful and less worries than
people who are not meek (mild and
gentle). We shall be healthier,
and happier since stress affects our
health in many negative ways. When
we handle things in a more of a calm
way and caring way, then we are practicing meekness.
And then we shall inherit the earth. (Overcome
the cares and worries of this world),
As
it is written: 1
Timothy 6:9 But those who desire to
be rich fall into temptation and a snare
, and into many foolish and harmful
lusts which drown men in destruction and
perdition.NKJV
And As
it is written:
Matthew 13:22Now
he
who received
seed
among the
thorns
is
he
who hears the
word,
and the
cares
of this
world
and the deceitfulness of
riches
choke the
word,
and
he
becomes unfruitful.
NKJV
Matt 5:6 Blessed
are
those who
hunger
and
thirst
for
righteousness,
For they shall be filled.
-
The HUNGRY and THIRSTY; These are
Christians who strongly and passionately desires the things will,
and ways of God (MT
12:50). These brothers and
sisters in Christ desires the pure milk
of Gods Words in their daily lives,
every second of every day (1Peter
2:2). Not just on Sundays!
They not only desire teachings according
to faith (Romans
1:17) and sound doctrine (Titus
1:9), they also act on their
faith with good deeds (James
2:26).
James 2:20But
do you want to know, O foolish
man,
that
faith
without
works
is
dead?*
But good works is only done as evidence
of our faith and that God is glorified (MT
5:16) among the non-believers!
These Christians are
those who has a passion and Love for
Jesus Christ and his words (John
14:15, John 14:24, John 21:15-17).
We desire to do good for the kingdom of
God (MT 5:16, MT
5:48, MT 6:1-4, James 2:17) and
not be selfish in our ways (Phil
2:3).
-
Be FILLED; Those who desires
solid food, shall receive solid food,
and then they will be mature in the
faith (1Co
14:20-21) when they receive solid
food. No longer will
they be called infants (EPH
4:14) in Christ. They shall be
called adults in Christ and then they
shall receive the fullness of Christ (John
1:16, Eph 4:13-15).
Matt 5:7 Blessed
are
the merciful, For they shall obtain
mercy.
-
The MERCIFUL; In being merciful
we must be compassionate and concerned
for our brothers and sisters in Christ,
that are in need (1John
3:17). We are to share in
one another's burdens and in doing so
Full Fills the Law of Christ (Gal
6:2). And showing love to one
another in action, not just in words (Rom
6:18), by this, showing your
selves to be true followers of Christ
(His Disciples
John 13:35). And with that
we must show concern for our brothers
and sisters around the world who are
persecuted, tortured and murdered for
the name sake of Jesus Christ our Lord.
To
be merciful means that we show
compassion to the oppressed, the poor,
the mental/physical handicap, and those
who has struggles in their lives and in
bondage to their sins.
-
OBTAIN MERCY; If we show mercy
with compassion we shall receive mercy
from men, especially mercy from God.
If we do not show mercy we shall NOT
receive mercy from God (James
2:13) but we would receive Gods
Judgment (Lake of fire) instead.
Forgive and you shall be forgiven. As it
is Written;
MT
6:14"For
if you forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly
Father will
also forgive you.
15But
if you do not forgive men their
trespasses, neither
will
your
Father
forgive your trespasses.
Matt 5: 8 Blessed
are
the pure in
heart,
For they shall see
God.
-
The Pure in Heart; are those
who are not worldly, they are holy
people with clean hearts that are
free from worldly desires, lust,
greed, and materialism. We are
to think on things that are Holy (PHP
4:8-9, 1TIM 1:5) A pure
heart does not share in the sins of
others (1TIM
5:22) We fight against
impurities with Gods powers, by
putting on the full armor of God (EPH
6:10-17) . If we do not have
a pure heart, then salvation will be
a stranger to us (1Titus
15:16-17). We are to
work out our salvation in fear and
trembling (PHIL
2:12). And we are to
present our bodies as a holy
and living sacrifice to our lord
Jesus Christ (ROM
12:1-2). Now the blood
of Christ, has cleansed our
conscience, so let us keep it clean and
away from all dead works (HEB
9:14-15)
-
See God; When we have a pure
heart, we shall see God (Our future
state) in heaven, and we shall know
about God, then we will be called
the children of God, instead of the
children of satan (1John
3:2).
Matt 5:9 Blessed
are
the peacemakers, For they shall be
called
sons
of
God.
-
The Peacemakers; Those few
believers who are pure in heart will be
at peace even though there are many
negative things in this world and
tribulations (John
16:33). They
put their hope and desires in Jesus
Christ (1Thess 1:3).
They patiently wait until our Lord Jesus
Christ returns (MT
25:10, MT 24:30, 1Thess 4:17-18)
for his true Church (Body of Christ
1 Cor 12:27,
The Bride Rev 21:9).
The believers in Christ who are
peacemakers shall not be given into
debating, arguing, cause strife or
divisions in the Body of Christ (2Tim
2:23). We must be united in
thought and mind (Romans
15:5). We must keep
the unity of the spirit in the bond of
peace through our Lord Jesus Christ (Eph
4:1-6).
-
Called Sons of God;
By
being peacemakers we shall be called the
children of God (1John
3:2, 1John 3:10) the sons of God
(Gal 3:26).
Only those who are the Children of God
are Born Again Christians who are led by
the spirit of God through our Lord Jesus
Christ. All others are children of
satan and has no part of Gods kingdom or
his holiness.
Matt 5: 10 Blessed
are
those who are persecuted for
righteousness'
sake, For theirs is the
kingdom
of
heaven.
-
Persecuted for Righteousness;
These Born Again Christians
are those who has Gods approval and
support, because they endure to the
end. (2Tim
2:3) and only these shall be
saved (MT
10:22). And these are people
who truly follow Jesus Christ and share in
his sufferings, by being persecuted (Matthew
5:11-12) and they are falsely
accused for the name sake of Jesus
Christ. They are also
excluded, hated, falsely accused..
Some
are even murdered and imprisoned for the
name sake of Jesus Christ.
-
Kingdom of Heaven; And when
we suffer persecutions and endure to
the end, then we shall be saved (MT
10:22) and enter into the
kingdom of God for all eternity!
And that my friend is a major
blessing in a half!
AMEN!
