Brief Teaching

The Purpose of the Law (Ten Commandments)  Please Note that the Two Greatest Commandments is a brief summary of the Ten Commandments!  The law first off shows us what sin is.  As Apostle Paul said; Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. NKJV  If was not for the law, we would not what adultery, bearing false witness, Idolatry and etc was.  So if we do not know what sin is and then realized of our sins against God?  And if we do not realize that we have sinned against God, then how could we realize our need for a savior (Jesus Christ)?  And then how can we repent of our sins, if we do not know that we have sinned against God?

As it is written; Galatians 3:24 Therefore the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith. NKJV  And as it is written: Psalms 19:7 The law of the LORD is perfect, converting the soul; The testimony of the LORD is sure, making wise the simple; NKJV

Image From Christ Art       And as it is written:  Romans 7:7 What shall we say then? Is the law sin ? Certainly not! On the contrary, I would not have known sin except through the law. For I would not have known covetousness unless the law had said, "You shall not covet." NKJV

And then secondly the Law shows us and teaches us oh how to LOVE God and LOVE our neighbor!  The Law is LOVE.  God does not want us to go against him and hurt him, and neither does God want us to hurt each other (our neighbors) either!  IT IS THE LAWS OF LOVE!  (Ten Commandments) is a complete summary of the (Two Greatest Commandment's) to which is a brief summary of the (Ten Commandments).  And what did Jesus say about the (Two Greatest Commandments)?  He said; Matthew 22:40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets ." NKJV  So is the law abolished and if it is abolished then is Love also abolished?  GOD FORBID, NO!  I say NO it is not abolished.  And with that are we allowed to bear false witness, commit idolatry, adultery etc?  GOD FORBID, No!  I say No!

Did Jesus say that he did not come to abolish the law (MT 5:17)?  He did not get rid of the law by any means!  So didn't Jesus upheld the law by saying the following?; Matthew 7:12 Therefore, whatever you want men to do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets  NKJV So by doing to others (showing love), fulfilling the laws/Prophets of Jesus Christ?  As it is written; Galatians 6:1-2 Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ .NKJV  So my friend there is another example of the (law related to showing love) as upholding the "Law of Love"

So friend even though the law it self doesn't save us (Gal 2:16), because all have broken the laws, and sinned against God (Ro 3:23)! (See Ro 7).

So friend because we are saved by grace, and no longer under the law, does that mean we no longer have to show love to God through Jesus Christ and show love to our neighbor?  CERTAINLY NOT!

As it is written; Jude 4 They are godless men, who change the grace of our God into a license for immorality and deny Jesus Christ our only Sovereign and Lord. NIV
